5 Duologies to add to your TBR

The thing about duologies is that they’re so much easier to get through than trilogies or longer series. I love that I can easily binge the whole series, and I find that it’s easier to grasp the overall series arc.

Here are some of my personal favourite duologies:

The Blood of Stars by Elizabeth Lim

Spin the Dawn Duology

I fell in love with Spin the Dawn from the moment I saw the cover and read the synopsis.

A gifted tailor in disguise.
Three legendary dresses.
The competition of a lifetime.

Obviously, I was going to put this duology on the list. I adored both books in this series, and honestly, I enjoyed all of the spin-off series as well. If you’re looking for a lush, magical world with incredible storytelling and a romance to root for, check out The Blood of Stars series.

Elements of Cadence by Rebecca Ross

Elements of Cadence Duology

My love for Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross knows no bounds, so I had to pick up some of her other series to pass the time while I wait for Ruthless Vows to release.

I really enjoyed A River Enchanted and A Fire Endless. It’s a cosy fantasy with low stakes, but the worldbuilding is incredible. I loved the characters and the storyline, it’s a must-read.

All The Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace

All The Stars and Teeth Duology

I’ve been following this author since before her debut was announced, and she’s easily one of my favourites.

Set in a kingdom where danger lurks beneath the sea, mermaids seek vengeance with song, and magic is a choice, All The Stars and Teeth is a brilliant YA fantasy that everyone should read.

The worldbuilding is so creative, and the magic system is so interesting. This is a really cohesive duology, and I loved both books.

Monk & Robot by Becky Chambers

Monk & Robot Duology

I had to add some wholesome sci-fi to this list. Becky Chambers is one of my favourite authors and I adored the Monk & Robot series. A Psalm for the Wild Built is the first book in this duology, and it follows a tea monk who meets a robot and has an existential crisis (same).

It’s so cute and wholesome, and they’re only novellas, so you can read both back to back!

Skyhunter by Marie Lu

Skyhunter Duology

Marie Lu’s writing has always had me in a chokehold. I remember reading a sampler of Skyhunter and immediately knowing it was going to be 5-stars.

In a world broken by war, a team of young warriors is willing to sacrifice everything to save what they love.

It’s just so good. The worldbuilding is so impressive, and the first chapter is truly a work of art. Highly recommend.
