Most Anticipated Books of 2023

It’s that time of the year when we talk about our most anticipated books of 2023! I told myself I wouldn’t make this list too long, since there’s no way I’m going to read them all. But then, more cool books got announced and the list got out of hand. So here are some I’m most excited about, and I’ll go into detail on the ones I’m planning to read.

If Only You by Chloe Liese

I am obsessed with everything Chloe Liese writes. This is the 6th book in the Bergman Brothers series. ​If Only You is a brother’s best friend, (fake) friends with benefits to friends to lovers romance about a bighearted, quietly fierce soccer star on the autism spectrum, and a thoroughly unprincipled, almost irredeemable hockey player who has celiac disease.

Witch King by Martha Wells

I will honestly read anything Martha Wells writes. I fell in love with her writing in the Murderbot series, so I’m excited for her to dip into fantasy. Here’s the synopsis of Witch King:

After being murdered, his consciousness dormant and unaware of the passing of time while confined in an elaborate water trap, Kai wakes to find a lesser mage attempting to harness Kai’s magic to his own advantage. That was never going to go well.

But why was Kai imprisoned in the first place? What has changed in the world since his assassination? And why does the Rising World Coalition appear to be growing in influence?

Kai will need to pull his allies close and draw on all his pain magic if he is to answer even the least of these questions.

He’s not going to like the answers.

Foxglove by Adalyn Grace

I absolutely loved Belladonna, and it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am ALL IN for the sequel. It’s no surprise that this book is on my most anticipated books of 2023 list Foxglove picks up right where we left off. We follow Signa and Death as they face a supernatural foe determined to tear them apart.

I CANNOT WAIT.

Capture the Sun by Jessie Mihalik

I read the first two books in this series in 2022 and I was hooked. I did not know that I needed sci-fi romance in my life, but here we are. I just had to put this on my most anticipated books of 2023 list. In the conclusion to the Starlight’s Shadow trilogy an intergalactic thief must join forces with the charming teleporter who stole her last job – and may now be her only hope for saving her former crew. I am so hyped for Capture the Sun.
