OWLs Wrap-up & Reading Goals for May

Can you believe that it’s May already? I can’t. It feels like March was 300 years long and April was gone in the blink of an eye. Such is life under a pandemic. Today I’m bringing you some life updates, an OWLs wrap-up and some reading goals for May.

OWLs Wrap-up

So as you all know, the OWLs is a monthly readathon in April based on the wizarding exams in Harry Potter. Check out my TBR post here. I had a planned TBR and planned subjects that I wanted to complete, but I also managed to complete a few subjects I did not plan for.

Planned Subjects:

Astronomy: Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Completed (review here).

Charms: An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard – Completed.

Divination: The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic- Completed. I switched out The Rise of Kyoshi with The Foxhole Court at the last moment, because I procrastinated on reading The Rise of Kyoshi.

History of Magic: Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin – Completed.

Unplanned Subjects:

Arithmancy (read something out of your comfort zone): Just Friends by Holly McCulloch. I never read contemporary so this was out of my comfort zone!

Muggle Studies (read a contemporary): Tweet Cute by Emma Lord.

Potions (book under 150 pages): Fence Vol 1 by C.S Pacat.

Transfiguration (a book that contains shapeshifting): In an Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire.

Reading Goals for May

May is my birth month! Yay! By the time this post goes up, I will be 24 (yikes)! This month I really want to work on my Netgalley TBR, so expect a lot of ARC reviews. I will also be re-reading (for the 1000th time) Twilight this month with some of my IRL friends (go check out Mieke’s blog).

You can also expect the first round of the First Chapter Challenge this month and a Taste Test Challenge between me and Mieke! Exciting stuff ahead.

What are your reading plans for May?
