Book Series to Read in 2022

Book Series to Read in 2022

It’s already April and I feel so behind. Don’t ask me what I’m behind on, I’m just behind. But more specifically, I am behind on some book series. I’m a serial series starter, but I have severe commitment issues and therefore I never seem to finish series.

Not this year. In 2022 I will be finishing some series. Let’s jump into my book series to read in 2022 list!

Book Series to Read in 2022

If you use my reading tracker spreadsheet, you’ll know there’s a sheet where you can track your series. I track all of my series there, and these are the ones I am closest to finishing:

The Kyoshi Duology

I read The Rise of Kyoshi in 2020, a full TWO YEARS ago. I still haven’t picked up The Shadow of Kyoshi. I’m a massive Avatar The Last Airbender fan, and I really enjoyed the first Kyoshi book. I’m not sure what’s stopping me from reading it, but I do need to get to it ASAP.

The Glass Spare Duology

This is an older YA fantasy duology that I started in 2019. I rated The Glass Spare pretty high, but since then I haven’t come close to picking up the second book. I remember really loving the characters and the setting, but at this point, I might have to reread the first book before getting to The Cursed Sea.

A River of Royal Blood Duology

Another duology I started in 2019 and just never got to the sequel. I really enjoyed A River of Royal Blood, but somewhere in the middle the series got a cover change (and I have an exclusive edition of the old covers) and I didn’t want to buy mismatched covers. I’m torn between DNFing this series and continuing. We’ll have to wait and see if I actually get to Queen of Gilded Horns this year.

Hollow Crown Duology

A lot of duologies on this list. At first, I thought I wasn’t going to continue with this series. However, I still remember plot points from Incendiary, so I might as well pick up the next book and see what happens. I think there’s some enemies to lovers things going on in Illusionary, so we’ll see what happens.

Seven Devils Duology

Another one of those series that I wasn’t sure I would continue, but here I am years later still thinking about the plot. Seven Devils was an alright sci-fi book in my opinion, but I guess some elements stuck with me. I’m hoping to pick up the second book, Seven Mercies, soon. Also, the covers are gorgeous.

The Celestials Trilogy by Sangu Mandanna

I know exactly why I’ve been putting this off. I absolutely adored the first two books in this series. And by the time the last book was published, I’d forgotten all of the plot points. Seriously, I cannot remember a thing, despite loving this series. So I have to reread two books before getting to A War of Swallowed Stars, which is no easy task. But I am up for the challenge.
