July Reading Wrap-Up

Hi friends! I wasn’t sure if I was going to do a July reading wrap-up. I did not have a good month at all. Life got a little crazy and it still hasn’t settled properly. However, I wanted to get back into blogging for August, so here we are.

Let’s get into my July reading wrap-up!

July Reading Wrap-Up: What I Read in July

As I said, July was terrible. My parents were sick, I couldn’t live at home for a while, and I moved into my own apartment. I was either too stressed or anxious to read, so I struggled. Here are some of the books I read in July.

It Ends in Fire by Andrew Shvarts

This book was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and I was a little disappointed. Overall I felt like we were told all of the important things, not shown. I did like the magic system, and I wish we delved deeper into it.

The Ravens by Kass Morgan and Danielle Paige

I really enjoyed The Ravens. It made me nostalgic for my own university days and I loved the magic system. I’ll be posting a review later this week, so keep an eye out for that.

Tales from the Hinterland by Melissa Albert

I received a copy of Tales from the Hinterland from Penguin Random House SA. I enjoyed some of the stories more than others. This is a nice addition to the Hinterland series, and I would recommend it if you love fairytales. My full review will be coming soon!

Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart

This book. I am so disappointed in this book.

Witches Steeped in Gold was our Read Better Book Club pick, and probably my most disappointing book of the year. I have a lot of things to say, so review to come soon.

And that’s my July reading wrap-up! Not my best month. I also didn’t receive or request any ARCs in July, which I’m proud of. I did buy a bunch of books though, so let’s take a look.

  1. Ravens sounds intriguing. Need to look it up on Goodreads. I kind of wanted to read Witches steeped in gold but after seeing so many mixed reviews I am in two minds about it.

  2. Hey, sorry to know about your parents. But I hope you have an infinitely better August. And I’m so curious to know more of your thoughts on Witches Steeped in Gold. It so trending these days.
